Congaree Swamp Stomp Resources

posted Dec 31, 2012, 8:11 AM by Tom Taylor

Attached below at the bottom of this post are two GPX files for GPS units.  The first, Trees.gpx, contains the locations of some of the Champion Trees in Congaree.  The trailpoints.gpx file contains trail heads and trail crossings so we don't get lost (much.)  If you've got a GPS and the EasyGPS software you can download these for your GPS.

Congaree Swamp guru John Cely has created an excellent map of the swamp.  We highly recommend that you purchase your own copy from the Congaree Swamp Visitor's Center ($15, I think, and well worth it.)  However, you can download these lower resolution images to use in a pinch.  Right click to save...

There are LOTS of geocaches on this trip that are accessible only by boat.  Be sure to bring a GPS.  You can set up a free account on geocaching.com to register your finds.

Put-in is a Carolina King Landing, GPS coords 33.574252°, -80.438633°.

A GPX file with put-in coordinates, as well as coordinates for more geocaches than we'll be able to find is located in the attachments section of this post,
