Second Saturday is almost here and once again we're off to Beaufort and
Lady's Island for our annual Megaladon hunt! This fun sharks-tooth and
fossil-filled day will net lots of cool stuff from the spoil piles off
Brickyard Point - and maybe another elusive megaladon tooth! For two
years now, we have found scads of awesome teeth and John even claims to
have located giant megs - even though I swear I saw a price tag on one
of them. This is a great paddle - fairly close to home, within sight of the landing for anyone who wishes to make it a half-day [we know who has to get back home to do chores...*whip crack*] and an easy time. Bring water and sunscreen and a bag for carrying piles of prehistoric plunder. Best time to be out there is on a falling tide. The biggest teeth are at the lowest point and this means between Noon and 1:30. So meet at the church at 9:00am or the landing on Brickyard Point at 10:00. John will be leading this one and he has pledged to find a 4" meg this year. Who's up for the challenge? |
